Club History

The Army Polo and Riding Club, New Delhi, is India's premier club and is truly one of a kind. Founded in 1995 at the Army's Nicholson Ranges, the club promotes  equine sports and activities. Several sportspersons belonging to the club have not only represented but also excelled in international championships, owing to consistent support provided by the institution. The Olympic and Asian Games witnessed the fiery spirit of the mounted soldiers as they raced their way to glory. Riding high on an impeccable reputation, the club provides riding facilities to members throughout the year. Major riding events and polo tournaments are also held on a regular basis. But it is not all ' horsing around '. The management takes an active interest in keeping the area clean and green. As a result, thousands of trees have been planted in the surrounding environs. Our club members come from different strata of the Indian society; bound together by the passion we share for our mounts. The Chief of Army Staff is the president of the club. The 61st Cavalry regiment looks into the daily management of the club on behalf of the Quarter Master General’s branch.
